18 United Bass Anglers ventured into the dark night on Candlewood.  The early part of the night was interrupted by bolts of dancing cloud to cloud/cloud to ground lightning, intermittent downpours, and occasional wind.  Many anglers reported spending up to 2 hours on land or in their vehicles waiting out the storms.  Eventually, these denizens of the night were finally able to put in some time fishing.  The weigh-in had the usual stories of monster smallies that came unbuttoned as they tail walked their way to freedom under the moonless sky.

When all was said and done, John Garbarini, Jr. took home first place honors.  His 4 smallies and 1 largie went 15.64lbs.  He also took lunker with a 4.29lb smallie.  Sean Helbig had his best finish of the year with a solid 2nd place showing.  His bag went 13.70lbs, and he reported losing a fish that would have put him over the top.  Manny Cruz had yet another Top 3 finish with his 12.44lb bag.  His kicker fish was a 4.15lb largie.  Rounding out the Top 5 were Jon Rosner and Erik Ruckdeschel.
